The Annual Balboa Park Powwow
The Balboa Park Powwow is a celebration of Native American heritage. At its core, this annual gathering is an invitation to everyone. While it’s a celebration of Native culture, it’s also a space for all people to come together, share in the joy of community, and learn about a vibrant heritage.
Date: Saturday, May 9th and Sunday, May 10th
Time: 10:00AM to 6:00PM each day
Location: Balboa Park, located at Park Boulevard and Presidents Way, San Diego, CA.
Important: City of San Diego Paid Parking Information
Balboa Park now has paid parking in most lots. Cost depends on where you park and whether you are a registered resident through the City of San Diego. Paid parking is enforced daily from 8:00AM – 6:00PM. The following information is a breakdown of parking costs for residents, visitors, and disabled attendees.
San Diego Residents
City of San Diego residents may receive free or reduced parking, but must register online in advance.
- One-time registration fee: $5
- License plate registration required
- Approval may take up to 2 business days

- Level 1 (Main Balboa Park Area)
$5 up to 4 hours / $8 full day - Level 2 (“Federal Parking Lot” – Closest to event)
Free for residents - Level 3 lot (Lower Inspiration Point)

Visitors from outside the City of San Diego
Parking fees apply in most Balboa Park lots. Parking meters are located in and around the park.

$10 per day - Level 3 – (Lower Inspiration Point)

Additional Parking Options
Institution / member parking
Some Balboa Park institutions (such as the Zoo or museums) may offer parking benefits for members or with admission.
Check directly with the organization you are visiting to confirm eligibility.
Street parking around the park
Limited street parking may be available on Park Blvd, Sixth Ave, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Posted time limits and meter rules apply.
ADA Accessible Parking
Parking is free, with no time limit, in all Balboa Park parking lots and at parking meters for those with a Disabled Person license plate or placard. Any space may be used for free ADA parking, not just is the blue parking spaces marked for disabled parking.
