At the San Diego American Indian Health Center, we pay attention to the whole patient and cater to your individual oral health needs based on risk assessments and overall health status. Children should visit a dentist by age one or within six months after their first teeth erupt to start preventive care. Both children and adults should make routine visits to the dentist depending on their individual oral health needs. Our compassionate team of dentists and assistants strive to make your dental experience gentle and relaxing.

- Fillings
- Extractions
- Oral surgery and simple extractions
- Root canals

- Specialty referrals for complex root canal therapy and extractions

Our dental department accepts Medi-Cal and all private PPO insurances. We provide dental care to patients regardless of insurance status. Patients without insurance may be eligible to receive services on a sliding fee scale, with the cost of treatment based on your family size and income.
Patients who are HIV positive may qualify for free oral health services through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.
Children aged 0-5 may qualify for free dental services through First 5 San Diego’s Oral Health Initiative.
Please note that patients who have dental insurance are responsible to pay for any fees not covered by their insurance plan. The San Diego American Indian Health Center accepts payment by cash, check, or credit card.
Verified American Indians/Alaska Natives may receive routine dental care at no cost including exams, x-rays, cleanings, and fillings. American Indians are responsible to pay for specialized services or those requiring use of an outside lab. Medications and referrals to outside specialists are not covered by the San Diego American Indian Health Center.
Our dentists are trained in providing safe and up to date restorative care using the latest materials and techniques.
